What you need to know
-
The Acupress Headband targets key acupressure points across your face and around the sides and back of your head to help you:
• Relieve mild headaches
• Soothe a tight jaw
• Maintain focus and mental clarity
• Ease tension in your face
• Maximise your downtime -
There are two ways to wear your Headband:
1. Across your forehead to relieve tension
2. Under your chin to soothe your tight and achy jaw
Wear it for at least 15-20 minutes to feel the relief from all 780 spikes. A light wrap is all you need.
If you already own a Shakti Mat or Pillow, adding your Headband to your practice is a great meditation aid. You can also use it for a deeper savasana, or mental clarity at your WFH space.
-
Wherever you feel comfortable. Perfect while working from home, unwinding after screen time, or relaxing on your Shakti Mat or Pillow.
-
• Take the pressure up a notch by wrapping the Headband under the base of your skull and resting your occipital bone on a yoga block.
• Skin-to-spike contact is best, so try to move as much hair out of the way as possible.
-
Pressing spikes into your head sounds like the opposite of relaxing, but the Headband is ultimately soothing. It’s far less intense than lying on spikes because the adjustable strap lets you apply subtle pressure.
There will be a slight sensation in the beginning, but that’s completely normal. In fact, it’s encouraged. Acupressure doesn’t work if you can’t feel the spikes work their magic.
After a few minutes, you’ll feel circulation increase as tension releases, fog lifts and clarity is restored. All in 20 minutes or less.
-
Acupress Headbands have Level 1 spikes. Why? Because wrapping spikes is different to lying on them. You can adjust the intensity with compression as opposed to relying on gravity alone. Perfect whether you want to increase the intensity of each spike – or ease off for a therapeutic touch.
-
Where acupuncture uses needles to pierce the skin, acupressure uses spikes to press against it. The key difference with a Headband is that you can target multiple acupoints in seconds – whenever you want – with the pressure you need.
