WHAT MAKES CLASSIC, CLASSIC?

What you need to know

  • • Tension-free muscles
    • Increased circulation
    • Mental clarity
    • Calm and focus
    • Deeper sleep
    • An ongoing sense of wellbeing

  • The most popular way to Shakti is in bed, before sleep. Lying down with the Mat under your back and shoulders is perfect, but you can use the Mat to target tension anywhere throughout your body.

Combining Shakti with yoga and meditation – either seated or through poses like sphinx and pigeon – can also help incorporate acupressure into your recovery or wellbeing routine.

To make it easy you’ll receive access to the world’s only acupressure mat app with purchase, unlocking the ability to double your Shakti benefits in minutes.

  • Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.

Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.

After a few minutes, the tingling sensation fades into a deep, relaxing warmth. The redness is purely a circulation boost. You might even fall asleep.

  • There are two things to consider when looking at intensities:

    1. Acupressure is personal
    2. Shakti spikes are much sharper than anything else out there.

Like the firmness of a mattress or the pressure of a massage - acupressure is the opposite of ‘one size fits all’. If you go too far in the beginning you’re less likely to build a solid habit. It’s why we offer three intensities that all unlock the benefits of acupressure.

    Level 1
Lying on spikes is weird, so we made sure this is the perfect place to start. Expect a balance of initial discomfort and deep release. Ideal for anyone new to acupressure.

    Level 2
For the bold and brave. Fewer spikes = more discomfort, so commit to pushing through to unlock the deeper release on the other side if you are contemplating Level 2.

    Level 3
Our deepest release isn’t the last stop on your journey – it’s only for the most experienced. Expect a serious sensation to start, with plenty of reward if you can handle it.

  • Where acupuncture uses needles to pierce the skin, acupressure uses spikes to press against it. The key difference with a Shakti Mat is that you can activate multiple acupoints in as many seconds as it takes to lie on them, and you don’t need to book an appointment either.

    More delicious than torturous

Loving our shakti mat. I was fully expecting to really have to work at staying in place but I find that almost as soon as I settle in, the tingling, prickling sensation gives way to a surge of warmth and relaxation. Getting back up again is the hardest part!

I really cant imagine going without my pokey mat

My therapist recommended i buy this to help with anxiety and tension in my body. It sounded crazy to me, but i am willing to try anything. My first 20 minutes on it were crazy. My back was on fire, my body was confused…. But after i rolled off the mat, i felt so much tension leave my body. The constant little pricks are nice nudges to remind you to relax while you are on the mat. Dont resist, dont fight back, just melt into it. Every night before bed i spend a minimum of 20 minutes on the mat. I even got my wife doing it. My biggest compliment though is on a day that i had extreme anxiety, i decided to try the mat. Instead of setting a timer, i started a stop watch. I took a nap. On the mat! Crazy right? I woke up and checked my stop watch and i had slept for 40 minutes. I only woke up because i twitched in my sleep and i felt the spikes against my skin. Oww. But genuinely, idk how to recommend this anymore than “i took a 40 minute nap and so can you”

Also, fun fact, i totally messed up my address when ordering and immediately contacted support expressing my concern about my address. This was at like … 10 pm ET? They messaged me back within 20 minutes, fixed the issue, and were super cool.

    Glad I purchased!

I was hesitant, but decided to give it a go, and now I'm addicted! Yes, it's a little painful at first, but quickly the pain subsides and it becomes very relaxing. I had read others that said they fell asleep on the mat- I thought they must've been joking but now I've fallen asleep twice! I love the guidance provided in the app, and I also really love that this company provides employment for women in India. Its great to hear some of their stories! I plan on purchasing a pillow now as well!
