To clean the Premium Mat and Pillow, remove the Blissfoam™ and hand-wash the cotton cover in warm soapy water, using a soft brush to clean the spikes. Rinse and hang to dry in the shade. Once dry, re-insert the Blissfoam™, ready for your next Shakti practice.
Store them out of the sun, as UV rays can cause the color to fade. Keep out of reach of pets and children.

A little, but only in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.
After a few minutes, the tingling sensation fades into a deep, relaxing warmth. The redness is purely a circulation boost. You might even fall asleep.

There are two things to consider when looking at intensities:
1. Acupressure is personal
2. Shakti spikes are much sharper than anything else out there.Like the firmness of a mattress or the pressure of a massage – acupressure is the opposite of ‘one size fits all’. If you go too far in the beginning you’re less likely to build a solid habit. It’s why we offer three intensities that all unlock the benefits of acupressure.
Level 1 is the perfect place to start. Expect a gentle balance of initial sensation and deep release. Ideal for anyone new to acupressure.
Level 2 is for the bold. Fewer spikes means more initial discomfort, so commit to pushing through to unlock a deeper release.
Level 3 is for the brave. Expect serious sensation upfront, with plenty of reward if you can handle it.
Level 4: Limited Edition is only for the experienced. Our most intense spikes ever – perfect if you're craving more from your advanced Shakti practice.

Great bit of kit! Yes definitely a lot lot more harder to lay on at first than any others I’ve used , and I’ve been using them for years daily! Thought I’d treat myself to the master of mats and brands and extreme level, it was surprisingly difficult on my 1st use but been getting easier and easier every day I use it and as for the results from it, a phrase springs to my mind…. “The best medicine is aways the hardest to take” and this mat is great medicine!
