The most popular way to Shakti is in bed, before sleep. Using the Pillow as an extension of your Shakti Mat lets you target your neck and get even more relaxation from your downtime.
When you place it under your head, neck and shoulders, it disperses pressure avoiding any pinch points. Your shoulders and neck experience a deep release that transitions up toward the top of your skull.
Its shape is also perfect for releasing tension in hard-to-reach curves, and you can rest your face against the spikes for a subtle sensation.

Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.
After a few minutes, the tingling sensation fades into a deep, relaxing warmth. The redness is purely a circulation boost. You might even fall asleep.

It certainly has an effect on reducing tension and stress but the feeling of the mattress is for the time being much more powerful and spectacular than that of the pillow

I already had the original matt&pillow. I always used these as a separate session. This new pillow is much easier to use and so i can also use it whilst reading in bed.

Jury is out on this. I got the mat and pillow I bou
together and my attention has been on using the mat. I have thick hair so I don't feel like the points are getting through. Now I have sussed the mat I'll put more thought into getting the head position right. I can feel it but not to the same extent as the mat. Perhaps that's a good thing. If anybody has tips then let me know.

You can try tying your hair up or parting it when using your Shakti Pillow, and also adjust it a little closer to your neck area to feel more of that acupressure effect. If you’d like a deeper experience, we’re happy to exchange your Original Pillow for the Advanced Level, which offers higher intensity and delivers stronger pressure even with thicker hair.
